Therefore, betel is also exported. eating of betel nut in Sri Lanka dates back to 340 BC, during which time the country's prestigious society gave high value to betel. Betel is believed to have originated in Malaysia or the East Asian region and was introduced to Sri Lanka and other South Asian countries by Chinese and Arab traders.🌱😎😄
Today, betel is cultivated for domestic consumption as well as export, with the major countries cultivating betel being Sri Lanka, India, Thailand and Bengal. Sri Lanka is a major exporter of betel to Pakistan, in addition to a small number of exports to Great Britain, Canada, France, Japan and the Middle East. 😊😊🤠
Thus betel is cultivated on a large scale and in small scale in various parts of Sri Lanka. My father also has a betel plantation like this. It's not his main job, but he does it willingly. He loves that cultivation so much. He does it on a small scale, though not on a large scale. I also help my father feed it whenever I can. Here are some pictures of that plantation. 😄🌱🌱
